I like the animated look. Too bad a "Blade" animated series is incredibly unlikely.
Marvel's too damned squeamish with their TV shows.

it would be nice to see an adult swim (or HBO!) Blade cartoon. Blade isn't worth doing if you can't see heads and arms flying off 300 style!

i drew it with a ballpoint pen, and filled in the black and grey tones with the polygon lasso, paintbucket and a giant pencil tool in photoshop. for me, the simplest solution is usually the best!

yeah, i try everything. i have watercolor brush pens i like (that's what i did the mike Tyson piece with), but my favorite drawing tool is probably the ballpoint pen...

I need to start doing the same thing. But I don't like messing up work on the first try!:XD: Watercolor brush pens? I didn't know those existed. :o

yep. you can buy brush pens at Michael's, or any other art supply store i imagine. after years of art tool experimantation/frustration, i just work with cheap tools now. i try to use tools i can find ANYWHERE, so i don't have to lug an art lab with me where ever i go LOL!

i do sketches with ballpoint pen (that are very messy and scribbly) to get the gesture, then i trace (the "politically correct" art word is "light table")the final result with the same pen. i also draw in pencil a lot, but i hate erasing. i tend to leave a lot of pencil lines, which doesn't bother me. when i want a polished look, i just rough the gesture out, then trace the final drawing instead of inking and erasing.

as you've seen in my latest comics work, you can't see the pencils (they are a mess!)... when i know i want to use that sort of computer-heavy coloring technique, i don't bother refining the drawing much, since it will never be seen.

again, i will draw with anything and since i draw so much, i really like cheap tools. my favorites right now are pencils (regular wooden ones from the grocery store or wal-mart), sharpies, and (of course) my cheap ballpoints!

(did i mention i draw pretty much everything on regular computer paper? that's a whole other discussion, i'm sure)
